Hal or anyone else who knows...

Can anyone confirm the # of heats for the 1600, 800, 3200 for boys and girls at CIF Prelims this weekend? The 3200 has 50 girls entered and I just want to make sure we know if it is a 2 heat or a 3 heat structure. 800 looks like it could slip to 3 heats this season if they wanted, etc. Just want to know what to plan for. :)

Thank you for any help,

Doug

Just wait until Saturday morning like the rest of us!!!! The heats will be specifically posted there in the program

I understand not wanting to give us heat sheets to make revenue selling them at the meet. It shouldn't be an issue for a coach to know how many heats there will be for their events though since it is a CIF meet and it does make a difference in strategy.

Doug, Being as polite as possible (not one of my virtues) all this information is available in the Championship Bulletin at the CIF-SS website. http://www.cifss.org/admin/images/bulletins/playoff%20bulletin%2014.pdf. It would be a very rare event (like almost never) where the published number of heats for these three events was changed.

The only event where the number of heats could possibly be reduced would be the 800.

Thanks Hal,

I did read those and have prepped for those which is why I was looking for confirmation in case things changed and threw it all out of whack. Since the entries were so large for the 3200, I thought I would check to see if changes were occurring. Thank you for your always prompt response. :)

The handbook says there will be three heats in the 1600, but at least in Div. 4, there are 3 heats some years and 2 heats other years. This year there are 20-25% less entries in the boys 1600 than 2013, so I would assume it would be a 2-heat year rather than a 3-heat year.
