Mt SAC Open Race?

Does anyone know if there will be an open race between the morning and afternoon sessions at CIFSS Prelims this year?

You have a good memory, there hasn't been an Open Race in at least 10 years.

The last Open Race was held in 2004, eight years ago.

That sounds like a lot of fun! Alternates would get to race and if they allowed coaches, I might even plug along!

That would be neat if it was ever brought back.

I ran it in 2004. I knew when the 70 year old woman passed me in the first mile that it was going to be a long race! ;)

Would love to see it back. The kids love having their coaches race so they can yell all the silly things we yell at them during races back at us! Would be great for alternates as well. Is there a reason they dropped it? Liability?

It was organized and run by Skip Stolley, not CIF. He ran out of sponsors and unfortunately he returned to his native Illinois a couple of years ago.
