    What happen to Rocha?

    Wasn't at prelims? Injury?

Phillip had a respiratory infection a couple of weeks before prelims. We had him rest for a short period of time in order to recover and he had also been placed on medication. The Monday before prelims he had a great workout. He had, however, still had some problems with coughing and was taken to a specialist. He was told that he had a viral infection to go along with the initial bacterial one and was told that if he didn't get some rest that it could escalate and possibly turn to pneumonia. His parents, wisely and reluctantly, told him that he shouldn't run. I told them the same. His long term health is way more important than any race in his freshman year could ever be. He took it hard as, even sick, he would have most likely qualified in both the 1600 and 3200. He is getting some rest this week and has a follow up in a few days.

Sorry to hear that! Was disappointing not to see him at prelims and a bit worried he might be injured. Hope he gets better soon!

Thank you for letting us know.

There are a huge number of parents\fans following Rocha, Tamagno, and Ogden from their club /USATF days. We are looking forward to their high school careers with eager anticipation!!

    Very very wise decision.

Sorry to hear that coach. Same thing happened to my daughter who is now running for me. She is a freshman too. When she came back after 5 days of rest she had the work-out of her life then days later she was worse! Its been three weeks now and she is barely getting her breath back.
