    Grade School vs High School

Does anyone out there know if there are any CIF rules or regulations against a grade school athlete competing unattached in a High School meet? I know they can't account for team points , but can they compete without later repercussions when they get into high school?

Yes, there are rules against it. Participants in a CIF sanctioned event must be students at CIF member institutions (or other state federation in inter-state competitions).

CIF rules do not allow unattached competitors under any circumstances. All competitors must represent a member school. That would preclude anyone not at least in the ninth grade and attending a member school from participating any in sanctioned (all) events.
