    All-CIF SS in Cross Country

At the CIF-SS Finals each year, 15 medals are given out in each of the five divisions. However, only ten are called up on the stage at the awards tent.

So who exactly makes All-CIF, the top 10 in each division or the top 15?

Hopefully Hal can chime in with the answer on that one.

In regard to who gets called up: If there are 15 athletes receiving awards, we should do those 15 some deserved justice (and create a nice memory/photo opportunity for those kids, their coaches and schools) and recognize them on the awards stage as well. If they deserved the award, let's recognize it the right way. It might get an extra two minutes per division for the ceremony, but it is well worth it. Will bring this up at the Advisory Committee Meeting and Management Committee input.

If my memory is correct (ha ha) George Vargas did this for years. All-CIF in any area/sport is not done by the SS Office. Usually by the media in team sports. Ask George.

Hal, I'll try to email George.

It appears that the SS office endorses the All-CIF selections though. The CIF-SS website has a page listing all of the All-CIF selections in each member sport (with the curious omissions each year of Wrestling and Cross Country). It also says they are endorsed by the LA84 Foundation and selected by each sport's coaches association.
